Info on the Copan Ruins...

Postby Nick » Tue Mar 31, 2009 11:48 am

Various people have stated in the past Copan is a safe and interesting as well as enjoyable place to visit. The Mayan ruins are an awe inspiring sight and some even have the opinion they're better than the ones in Chien Itza. There are nice places to stay, interesting restaurants, hot springs, museums, bird sanctuaries, as well as the local night life and more. There is no airport in Copan Ruins and a trip from San Pedro Sula takes more than a day for travel to, sight see, and the trip back so plan on staying several days minimum. Many people in the past have stated you'll need at least that just to take in the main attractions and even more time if you really want to explore. As far as safety is concerned, just like anywhere else in Honduras, you do have to use common sense. I haven't been there yet but am looking forward to a trip soon!
